Type Locality and Naming
Type section at Zaoshang village, close to Chengtanjiang, Liuyang County, Hunan Province. Named by Wang Sien et al., 1985, Stratigraphy of China II, Jurassic of China, Beijing: Geological Publishing House. First appeared in a 1975 manuscript by Institute of Geology and Coal Exploration, China Coal Research Institute.

Alternating beds of conglomerate, rudite, gray thick-bedded quartzose sandstone and sandy mudstone

Lower contact
